About the work.

This poem was inspired by a visit to Fenway Park in summer 2025 and a photo that I captured of the lone red seat. I’ve layered the piece to highlight the red seat and make it stand out next to the poem to emphasise loneliness. Is it better to stand out or fit in? If we abandon ourselves to fit in with a crowd that in itself can be lonely, but if we stand out and be our true selves that can feel terrifying because what if we lose people close to us?
